The 2018 Marine Association of Texas (MAT) scholarship recipients are Monica Lash and Ellie Pace.
Monica is the daughter of Alida and John Lash of Lago Vista, TX. Monica is a junior at Texas A&M University majoring in Allied Health and minoring in Spanish. Monica’s plan is to further her education and become a Physician’s Assistant (PA). Her lifelong goal is to serve people with humanity, kindness and respect. Monica has been working at Northshore Marina on Lake Travis for the past three summers under the supervision of Charlotte Jacunski. Charlotte says, “We have been pleased to have Monica at the marina and will be sad to see her go next season, although we wish her the best in her study abroad program for the summer of 2019.”
Ellie is a Sophomore Biology major, minoring in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Tulsa. Raised on Lake Lewisville in Texas, Ellie has been working summers at Eagle Point Marina since she was 13 – where she fell in love with marine wildlife and species. Ellie’s plan is to attend Anesthesiology Assistant school after she receives her Bachelor’s degree. Ellie is the daughter of Connie and John Pace of Flower Mound, TX. Connie’s family has been part owners of Eagle Point Marina her entire life, she currently serves as the Leasing Manager.
